Tapas in Murcia
You have probably already heard of the famous Spanish "Tapas." In Murcia, there are a great number of bars and squares where you can enjoy a delicious appetiser in the open air. The most well-known Murcian Tapas include: Pisto, Zarangollo , la Ensalada Murciana, etc., all of which are prepared with vegetables from our rich Murcian markets. Some of the most popular bars are El Palomo and Los Toneles, both situated in C/ Cánovas del Castillo, the Pepico del Tío Ginés in C/ las Mulas, Los Zagales in C/ Polo de Medina, El Patio in C/ Paco and La Parranda situated in Plaza San Juan. Weekends, the bars serving tapas in Plaza del las Flores, la Plaza Mayor, and Alfonso X el Sabio are much frequented. If you want a formal meal, there exist restaurants in every part of the city where you can find a great quality at a fair price.

Rincón de Pepe
Murcia's most famous tapas restaurant, famous all over Spain. Anyone who visits Murcia must have a tapas meal in Rincon de Pepe. Always very full, but service is generally quick. For dessert try the Paparajotes, a Murcian delicacy made with the leaves of lemon trees. They are delicious and rare elsewhere in Spain. For a one-off visit, we recommend the Menú de degustación which gives you a taste of the restaurant's most popular tapas dishes. See further description in Spanish, Rincon de Pepe.
